Children's Hospital of Michigan

Our partnership with Children’s Hospital of Michigan started in 2018 when we would plan art projects for the patients of all ages and abilities. In 2020, our projects were halted because of the Covid 19 pandemic. Due to hospital restrictions, volunteers were not allowed for the next few years. But in 2023, we were finally allowed to plan events in the lobby of the hospital, which is when Book Fair began! We provide experiences that these children may miss out on due to their hospital stay. Our Book Fair, where patients come pick out books and other goodies for free, is always a huge hit! We strive to provide books that focus on inclusion and offer books in multiple languages. In 2024 we expanded to include Denny’s Surprise Shop, where patients were able to choose gifts for their loved ones. These projects are making a difference for the patients and their families! Restrictions have been lifted as of 2024 and we are now allowed to plan hands on activities with the patients again! We are excited to expand with new and exciting projects. We plan to offer year round enrichment programs for the patients at CHM.
